The supporters of FC Bayern München booed when Germania Haithabu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernd Holz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steffen Goll took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Siegmund Buhrmann. Germania Haithabu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubbo Marschner in the 6th minute of play forced FC Bayern München's goalkeeper Lou Jeschke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Ubbo Marschner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lou Jeschke was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Germania Haithabu's Siegmund Buhrmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaspar Bernwalder in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jürg Reuter in the 13th minute of play forced Germania Haithabu's goalkeeper Siegmund Buhrmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 played minutes, FC Bayern München's Piero Ehinger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Siegmund Buhrmann came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Bayern München reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ubbo Marschner got free with Lou Jeschke in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute Jürg Reuter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siegmund Buhrmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaspar Bernwalder kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Germania Haithabu's Erk Grimm got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Steffen Goll sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Siegmund Buhrmann skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Balder Steigert in the 27th minute of play forced Germania Haithabu's goalkeeper Siegmund Buhrmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ubbo Marschner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lou Jeschke having to interfere. Siegmund Buhrmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jürg Reuter in the 34th minute of the match. Siegmund Buhrmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jürg Reuter in the 36th minute of play. Siegmund Buhrmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kaspar Bernwalder went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Bernd Holz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Lou Jeschke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ubbo Marschner made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Arjen Brockmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germania Haithabu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arjen Brockmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Germania Haithabu's Siegmund Buhrmann got control of the ball when Balder Steigert tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 57 played minutes FC Bayern München got a freekick which was hit by Kaspar Bernwalder. A collision led to Germania Haithabu getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Bernd Holz hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, FC Bayern München's Steffen Goll tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Balder Steigert got free with Siegmund Buhrmann in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 65 played minutes Germania Haithabu got a freekick which was hit by Kasimir Baba. In the 66th minute of the match Steffen Goll shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Siegmund Buhrmann showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 68 minutes, Ubbo Marschner made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Bayern München's Lou Jeschke tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Germania Haithabu defense, Jürg Reuter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Siegmund Buhrmann. The Germania Haithabu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Siegmund Buhrmann should have stopped the shot. 75 minutes into the game, Kaspar Bernwalder recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Siegmund Buhrmann. Kaspar Bernwalder showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. A collision led to FC Bayern München getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Yannick Kehr hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jürg Reuter in the 89th minute of play forced Germania Haithabu's goalkeeper Siegmund Buhrmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ubbo Marschner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 96 minutes, Ubbo Marschner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germania Haithabu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ubbo Marschner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
