Bodo Wolf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 6 minutes into the game, Bodo Wolf cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Samir Hitzler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to 1.FC Magdeburg getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Friedrich Scharfenberg hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, 1.FC Magdeburg's goal looked a bit too open when Benedikt Gollick came free, but Eliah Kornacker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Kreuer Fürth's zone, Finn Obst stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samir Hitzler came out of the goal and Finn Obst tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the 1.FC Magdeburg defense, Wilhelm Bopp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliah Kornacker. The 1.FC Magdeburg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliah Kornacker should have stopped the shot. Eppo Wattmann received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Samir Hitzler came out and tried to block the shot, but Eppo Wattmann slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 20th minute. Eliah Kornacker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilhelm Bopp in the 24th minute of the match. Samir Hitzler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Finn Obst's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute, Wilhelm Bopp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kreuer Fürth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Kreuer Fürth's Samir Hitzler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Kreuer Fürth from getting a goal against them. After 38 minutes, Rolf Gubitz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kreuer Fürth and the 1.FC Magdeburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rolf Gubitz kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Finn Obst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samir Hitzler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Finn Obst in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Finn Obst was the one to do the kick off. When Achim Rüsing fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kreuer Fürth's protests and gave Achim Rüsing a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of 1.FC Magdeburg booed when Kreuer Fürth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Achim Rüsing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samir Hitzler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boris Schowanek in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Finn Obst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samir Hitzler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliah Kornacker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilhelm Bopp in the 56th minute. Kreuer Fürth's Samir Hitzler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eppo Wattmann in the 60th minute of play. Samir Hitzler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eppo Wattmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 1.FC Magdeburg's Boris Schowanek got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samir Hitzler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eppo Wattmann in the 67th minute of the match. Samir Hitzler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Finn Obst, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After a rather tough play, Kreuer Fürth's Björn Sabath got a free kick in the 71st minute. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kreuer Fürth's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Finn Obst was slow to take the kick. During this time 1.FC Magdeburg's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Finn Obst almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Kreuer Fürth's Samir Hitzler did a great save. Boris Schowanek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Samir Hitzler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Finn Obst managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1.FC Magdeburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Finn Obst was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samir Hitzler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boris Schowanek might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Samir Hitzler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boris Schowanek ran back to his position shaking his head. Boris Schowanek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samir Hitzler having to interfere. Kreuer Fürth's Samir Hitzler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finn Obst in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Boris Schowanek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 1.FC Magdeburg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. 1.FC Magdeburg fully deserved thier win.
