The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the match, Eintracht Frankfurt's goalkeeper Gianni Wolsch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nikolaus Scherrer. Willi Gubitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Obernbecku's Nikolaus Scherrer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gianni Wolsch. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Erik Schulze in the 17th minute of play forced Eintracht Frankfurt's goalkeeper Gianni Wolsch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Jens-Erik Schulze took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Gianni Wolsch to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hubert Drescher during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Eintracht Frankfurt getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Hubert Drescher hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, Nikolaus Scherrer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gianni Wolsch. Eintracht Frankfurt's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nikolaus Scherrer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Gianni Wolsch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willi Gubitz in the 29th minute of play. Hubert Drescher took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Frank Stehmer. Obernbecku's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Hubert Drescher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Winfried Sundmacher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Stehmer having to interfere. The supporters of Eintracht Frankfurt booed when Obernbecku was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milenko Breves didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Winfried Sundmacher made a kick off. Gianni Wolsch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikolaus Scherrer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Willi Gubitz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Obernbecku fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Erik Schulze in the 66th minute of play forced Eintracht Frankfurt's goalkeeper Gianni Wolsch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gianni Wolsch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milenko Breves in the 67th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Nikolaus Scherrer made a precise shot to the right of Gianni Wolsch. Eintracht Frankfurt's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Winfried Sundmacher's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frank Stehmer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 89th minute Willi Gubitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianni Wolsch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hubert Drescher was shown his second yellow card after 93 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 94 played minutes Eintracht Frankfurt got a freekick which was hit by Hubert Drescher. Obernbecku walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
