After 40 minutes, Lars Rehmet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RafKas 2008 and the Dynamo Lichtenberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Frank Hofmeier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walther Wiedenroth-Coulibaly having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gero Olowka to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Dynamo Lichtenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Bruns came free, but Walther Wiedenroth-Coulibaly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edward Bruns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. If Gero Olowka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Edward Bruns came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the RafKas 2008 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Bruns couldn't finish the play. Frank Hofmeier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of RafKas 2008 booed when Dynamo Lichtenberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaspar Kurbjuweit didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Dynamo Lichtenberg fans cheered their team off the field, for while RafKas 2008 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
