In the 2nd match minute, Köper was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Schock to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Rupennest's zone, Gerhard Brenner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Frohwein came out of the goal and Gerhard Brenner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Karl Plaaten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rupennest's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl Plaaten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolf Breitenstein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gismund Heidingsfelder in the 10th minute of play forced Köper's goalkeeper Rudolf Breitenstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Karl Plaaten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 19th minute by Sammy Koroschetz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 21 minutes, Karl Plaaten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rupennest and the Köper players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, Karl Plaaten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michael Wittlich charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michael Wittlich the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Michael Wittlich hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Gerhart Kellermann was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Karl Plaaten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolf Breitenstein having to interfere. Rudolf Breitenstein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl Plaaten's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 43rd match minute, Köper was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Wittlich to maneuver through the defense. Karl Plaaten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rudolf Breitenstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frido Rabe in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
In the 52nd minute Gismund Heidingsfelder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Breitenstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl Plaaten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Rudolf Breitenstein made a huge save. Gismund Heidingsfelder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Rudolf Breitenstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Karl Plaaten managed to get in a good position for a shot. A collision led to Köper getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Bertil Hasebrink hit a great ball. Köper's Rudolf Breitenstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gismund Heidingsfelder in the 75th minute of play. Karl Plaaten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 76th minute Karl Plaaten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Breitenstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gismund Heidingsfelder in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rudolf Breitenstein saved Köper from getting behind. Karl Plaaten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Rudolf Breitenstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Köper's Sammy Koroschetz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Frohwein narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Rupennest booed when Köper was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conny Ernstberger didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 98th minute Rupennest were awarded a corner. Gerhart Kellermann went to the cornerflag to take it. Gerhart Kellermann made a great header on Rupennest's corner, it was just that Köper's Rudolf Breitenstein managed to reach the ball for a save. Rupennest were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Köper to leave the ground with a draw.
