Spectators: 6722 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Apollo Appel kicked off to start the match. Zinédine Kordowski charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zinédine Kordowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 3 played minutes Vechta FSV got a freekick which was hit by Zinédine Kordowski. Unterreit's Rudolf Stiefler got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Willibald Grassow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimar Kahn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raimar Kahn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Knut Biehl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willibald Grassow having to interfere. Norbert Lienert hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Knut Biehl got free with Willibald Grassow in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the game, Mark Winkelsett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unterreit's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vechta FSV the free kick. 34 minutes into the game, one of Unterreit:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 36 minutes, Vechta FSV's Otto Ondraczek got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Willibald Grassow. In the 47th minute, Raimar Kahn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Raimar Kahn made the kick off in the second half. Unterreit's Willibald Grassow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimar Kahn in the 52nd minute of play. Alois Glückler's late challenge caught a Unterreit's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alois Glückler helped the player get up and apologised. Raimar Kahn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Apollo Appel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Helmut Gehl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raimar Kahn struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Willibald Grassow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vechta FSV. Willibald Grassow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Knut Biehl in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Rudolf Stiefler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rudolf Stiefler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alois Glückler hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apollo Appel in the 79th minute of play forced Vechta FSV's goalkeeper Helmut Gehl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 80 minutes, Rudolf Stiefler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unterreit's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudolf Stiefler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Helmut Gehl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apollo Appel, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 89 played minutes Unterreit got a freekick which was hit by Ilja Staudenhöchte. Knut Biehl struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Willibald Grassow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vechta FSV. When Raimar Kahn came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Vechta FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raimar Kahn couldn't finish the play. 96 minutes into the match, Vechta FSV's goalkeeper Helmut Gehl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rudolf Stiefler. Although Vechta FSV had been in control for most of the match, Unterreit still came away with the win.
