The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Tilmann Rostock had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carsten Breneizeris. Genheim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tilmann Rostock was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Marcel Hutterer fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Genheim's protests and gave Marcel Hutterer a yellow card for diving instead. Starbulls Rosenheim made a substitution. August Bittcher replaced Korbinian Zeiler. After 7 played minutes Genheim got a freekick which was hit by Marcel Hutterer. 9 minutes into the match, Genheim's goal looked a bit too open when Tilmann Rostock came free, but Carsten Breneizeris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fedde in the 22nd minute of play forced Starbulls Rosenheim's goalkeeper Ennio Strengmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Fedde got free with Ennio Strengmann in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 26 minutes into the match, Starbulls Rosenheim's goalkeeper Ennio Strengmann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Willy Rottmair. Willy Rottmair could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Ennio Strengmann made a huge save. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jörg Jütte made a kick off. Carsten Breneizeris was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and August Bittcher capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. After 73 played minutes Starbulls Rosenheim got a freekick which was hit by Tilmann Rostock. Ennio Strengmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Josip Molau went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Carsten Breneizeris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from August Bittcher in the 77th minute of the match. Tilmann Rostock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Josip Molau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ennio Strengmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Genheim's zone, Tilmann Rostock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carsten Breneizeris came out of the goal and Tilmann Rostock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carsten Breneizeris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from August Bittcher in the 90th minute of play. Jakob Bostock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carsten Breneizeris having to interfere. The Genheim supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Starbulls Rosenheim's performance. The match ended with a win for Starbulls Rosenheim.
