He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Carsten Breneizeris. Vechta FSV were furious when Zinédine Kordowski was red carded, 7 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Friedbert Zettler walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Jörg Jütte struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Helmut Gehl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Genheim. Knut Biehl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Carsten Breneizeris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
