Knut Gern kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. If Ralf Heintges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 18th minute Ralf Heintges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cliff Wanner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raiko Fritzsch kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Ralf Heintges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronnie Yüksel might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cliff Wanner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronnie Yüksel ran back to his position shaking his head. Knut Gern hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Lühe's Jari Flemming played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Pirkner in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralf Heintges in the 34th minute of play forced Reaper crew's goalkeeper Cliff Wanner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Reaper crew defense, Ralf Heintges kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cliff Wanner. The Reaper crew fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cliff Wanner should have stopped the shot. After 44 minutes, Kurt Kranz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Reaper crew and the Lühe players grew even worse after the yellow card. Reaper crew's Cliff Wanner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf Heintges in the 48th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Pirkner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Ralf Heintges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lühe's supporters rose to their feet, but Ralf Heintges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cliff Wanner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ronnie Yüksel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cliff Wanner having to interfere. Danko Heffungs's late challenge caught a Reaper crew's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danko Heffungs helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd match minute, Lühe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danko Heffungs to maneuver through the defense. Tony Pirkner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A well placed Ralf Heintges short distance shot in the 66th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. After 72 minutes, Frederik Beide mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lühe and the Reaper crew players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ralf Heintges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronnie Yüksel scored 1-4 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cliff Wanner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 81 minutes into the match, Lühe's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Christen came free, but Jari Flemming reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
