Spectators: 6713 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1713, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Otto Thorbrügge took the kick off in the first half of the match. Leopold Schikaneder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alois Glückler in the 3rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otto Thorbrügge in the 5th minute of play forced Vechta FSV's goalkeeper Helmut Gehl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Otto Thorbrügge's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Helmut Gehl was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. In the 8th minute, Erik Adler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Weitefeld fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Vechta FSV's Helmut Gehl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raik Belger in the 11th minute of play. Otto Thorbrügge hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raik Belger during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Weitefeld getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Raik Belger hit a great ball. Helmut Gehl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otto Thorbrügge in the 19th minute of play. Helmut Gehl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Adler, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Otto Thorbrügge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Otto Thorbrügge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Helmut Gehl. Vechta FSV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otto Thorbrügge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Helmut Gehl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raik Belger's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vechta FSV's zone, Erik Adler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Helmut Gehl came out of the goal and Erik Adler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Axel Wosnitza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Helmut Gehl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otto Thorbrügge in the 40th minute of the match. Bruno Rüdiger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Otto Thorbrügge struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Helmut Gehl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Weitefeld. Bruno Rüdiger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helmut Gehl having to interfere. The Vechta FSV players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Weitefeld were winning 0-2.

If Otto Thorbrügge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bruno Rüdiger came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the FC Weitefeld fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Rüdiger couldn't finish the play. Otto Thorbrügge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alois Glückler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Leopold Schikaneder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alois Glückler's late challenge caught a FC Weitefeld's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alois Glückler helped the player get up and apologised. Alois Glückler hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Vechta FSV's Helmut Gehl got control of the ball when Bruno Rüdiger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leopold Schikaneder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Knut Biehl in the 69th minute of the match. After 71 played minutes Vechta FSV got a freekick which was hit by Richard Murmann. In the 73rd minute Bruno Rüdiger suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norbert Lienert during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vechta FSV's Norbert Lienert got a free kick in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the game, Axel Wosnitza recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Helmut Gehl. Axel Wosnitza showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The supporters of FC Weitefeld booed when Vechta FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Lienert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otto Thorbrügge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helmut Gehl having to interfere. Erik Adler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 89 minutes, Axel Wosnitza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Weitefeld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Wosnitza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Weitefeld's Leopold Schikaneder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alois Glückler in the 93rd minute of play. FC Weitefeld's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
