Spectators: 6720 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rudolf Wulf started the match with the kick off. If Hannes Bresack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Herriehausen's Erasmus Viehl got a free kick in the 10th minute. Rudolf Wulf struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Wilhelm Blecken didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VFB Altena. Wilhelm Blecken stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joachim Kasig's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. When VFB Altena's Rudolf Wulf in 15 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Wilhelm Blecken guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. A collision led to VFB Altena getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Slaven Metzner hit a great ball. When Joachim Kasig came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the VFB Altena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joachim Kasig couldn't finish the play. If Rudolf Wulf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilhelm Blecken didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joachim Kasig went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 31st play minutes Rudolf Wulf shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Wilhelm Blecken and just under the crossbar into goal. Rudolf Wulf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolf Wulf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Wilhelm Blecken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rudolf Wulf came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the VFB Altena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudolf Wulf couldn't finish the play. After 48 played minutes Martin Kwast rounded VFB Altena's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. After the first half VFB Altena were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Martin Kwast made the kick off in the second half. Joachim Kasig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Wilhelm Blecken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Rudolf Wulf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joachim Kasig kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Wilhelm Blecken didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joachim Kasig went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Herriehausen's Wilhelm Blecken got control of the ball when Joachim Kasig tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Herriehausen's zone, Rudolf Wulf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilhelm Blecken came out of the goal and Rudolf Wulf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilhelm Blecken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rudolf Wulf in the 70th minute of the match. Rudolf Wulf had several of the Herriehausen's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 75 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Wilhelm Blecken as he didn't even see the shot coming. Hannes Bresack fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hüseyin-Kenan Hübener having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, one of VFB Altena:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Herriehausen a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Roberto Gerster, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of VFB Altena's Hüseyin-Kenan Hübener. 2-4. Rudolf Wulf got in the 95th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Wilhelm Blecken handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Joachim Kasigs short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Wilhelm Blecken to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hannes Bresack in the 99th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hüseyin-Kenan Hübener prevented the ball from getting in the gole. VFB Altena's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
