SC Victoria Hamburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olaf Landgraf was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Olaf Landgraf blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nikolaus Stahl having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermann Piltz to make the kick off. When Joachim Falke was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 52 minutes had been played. Nikolaus Stahl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olaf Landgraf's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the game, Anders Kamp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lokomotiv USSR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Victoria Hamburg the free kick. A collision led to Lokomotiv USSR getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Anders Kamp hit a great ball. Anders Kamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 100 minutes into the match, SC Victoria Hamburg's goal looked a bit too open when Olaf Landgraf came free, but Nikolaus Stahl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lokomotiv USSR fully deserved thier win.
