Albert Dickhut breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Bastian Neuwinger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albert Dickhut was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After 29 played minutes, UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN's Heinz-Gerd Hergt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Albert Dickhut came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN reached it. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Molkenberg's goalkeeper Albert Dickhut, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Bastian Neuwinger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albert Dickhut. Molkenberg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bastian Neuwinger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Tim Bache acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 36th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Frederik Zöllig. In the 38th minute of the match Calvin Borchert sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albert Dickhut skillfully saved the ball. Bastian Neuwinger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Albert Dickhut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute of the match Calvin Borchert shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albert Dickhut showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Friedrich Sulzer made a kick off. Bastian Neuwinger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calvin Borchert took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Albert Dickhut. Molkenberg's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bastian Neuwingers short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Albert Dickhut to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 68 played minutes Molkenberg got a freekick which was hit by Manfred Königshaus. Bastian Neuwinger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Albert Dickhut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gideon Schreiber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Molkenberg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN the free kick. In the 78th match minute, Molkenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfred Königshaus to maneuver through the defense. Bastian Neuwinger in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Bastian Neuwinger might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albert Dickhut. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bastian Neuwinger ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascal Nellessen in the 93rd minute of play forced UNION LÜDINGHAUSEN's goalkeeper Tim Bache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bastian Neuwinger might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albert Dickhut. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bastian Neuwinger ran back to his position shaking his head. Dag Weiß fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Dickhut having to interfere.
