Danilo Schollmeyer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maik Dutzmann's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in SC Halberg's zone, Werner Schrumpf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Zukrigl came out of the goal and Werner Schrumpf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Maik Dutzmann came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the SC Halberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maik Dutzmann couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Graham Wegmann could shoot a difficult shot in the 44th minute, which Marco Zukrigl however easily saved by the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 48 minutes, Marco Zukrigl successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marco Köstner to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SV Bechtolsheim's Graham Wegmann got a free kick in the 55th minute. After 57 played minutes SV Bechtolsheim got a freekick which was hit by Ole Jenssen. SV Bechtolsheim's Ole Jenssen got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Ole Jenssen off the ground. In the 70th minute, Ole Jenssen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Graham Wegmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. SC Halberg's Maik Dutzmann got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SV Bechtolsheim's Danilo Schollmeyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baptist Klee in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Halberg eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
