Gretel Lau was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Monty Börnsen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Monty Börnsen really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 15 played minutes Limperich got a freekick which was hit by Klaus Aist. Andi Heiske might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gretel Lau. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andi Heiske ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Limperich getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Klaus Aist hit a great ball. When Lennert Löbe came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Limperich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lennert Löbe couldn't finish the play. If Andi Heiske had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Monty Börnsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andi Heiske succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 38th playminute. Monty Börnsen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gretel Lau firmly grabbed it by the left post. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stefan Leibrecht was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Geltow was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johann Lohrmann to maneuver through the defense. Gretel Lau stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Monty Börnsen's shot from short distance in the 56th minute.
