If Rüdiger Scheuermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niko Pirkner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Dariusz Steffel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Niko Pirkner reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dariusz Steffel. The goal made the score 1-0. Dariusz Steffel was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Niko Pirkner capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Niko Pirkner really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Rüdiger Scheuermann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dariusz Steffel having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Rüdiger Scheuermann got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Onno Bundschuh hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Heidesiedlung's Dariusz Steffel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Heidesiedlung from getting a goal against them. After 47 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Horst Herdzik. 49 minutes into the match, Rüdiger Scheuermann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dariusz Steffel. Heidesiedlung's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rüdiger Scheuermann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niko Pirkner to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Galatasaray's Marc Zamtaradse got a free kick in the 55th minute. Erik Nikolai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute Niko Pirkner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dariusz Steffel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rüdiger Scheuermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Onno Bundschuh's late challenge caught a Galatasaray's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Onno Bundschuh helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when Heidesiedlung was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Onno Bundschuh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dariusz Steffel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niko Pirkner, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niko Pirkner in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dariusz Steffel saved Heidesiedlung from getting behind. After having played for 83 minutes, Dragoslav Hochbaum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heidesiedlung's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dragoslav Hochbaum was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Rüdiger Scheuermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 minutes of play, Heidesiedlung's Dragoslav Hochbaum made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gottlieb Dilling was left in no man's land by his defense there! Galatasaray were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Heidesiedlung for a fine match.
