Spectators: 6711 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1711, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gretel Bruhn started the match with the kick off. Clark Seidel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gretel Bruhn's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Helmut Scheifler might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Will Zehle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Helmut Scheifler ran back to his position shaking his head. Tom Vuchelich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Will Zehle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, SpVg Eicha's goal looked a bit too open when Helmut Scheifler came free, but Will Zehle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Hohenfelde's Clark Seidel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save FC Hohenfelde from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the game, Balthasar Witteler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SpVg Eicha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Hohenfelde the free kick. The supporters of FC Hohenfelde booed when SpVg Eicha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Balthasar Witteler didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Torsten Prautzsch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, FC Hohenfelde's goalkeeper Clark Seidel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leif Brossart. When Gretel Bruhn got free in front of the goal in the 35th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Clark Seidel was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Helmut Scheifler came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the FC Hohenfelde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Helmut Scheifler couldn't finish the play. Torsten Prautzsch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heinz Seelmann's late challenge caught a SpVg Eicha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Heinz Seelmann helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, FC Hohenfelde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heinz Seelmann to maneuver through the defense. SpVg Eicha's Leif Brossart got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Helmut Scheifler was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Balthasar Witteler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Clark Seidel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gretel Bruhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clark Seidel having to interfere. Gregor Hupach kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, FC Hohenfelde's goal looked a bit too open when Balthasar Witteler came free, but Clark Seidel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Gretel Bruhn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SpVg Eicha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Leif Brossart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clark Seidel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gretel Bruhn, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Leif Brossart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clark Seidel was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. If Gretel Bruhn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in FC Hohenfelde's zone, Gregor Hupach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clark Seidel came out of the goal and Gregor Hupach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gretel Bruhn in the 79th minute of play forced FC Hohenfelde's goalkeeper Clark Seidel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Gretel Bruhn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SpVg Eicha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gretel Bruhn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Leif Brossart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SpVg Eicha's Gretel Bruhn got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gretel Bruhn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gretel Bruhn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
