After having played for 19 minutes, Felix Kitzmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. hoffenheim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Kitzmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pär Erhart was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in FC Wilde Meute's zone, Wilfried Mademann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricky Reiser came out of the goal and Wilfried Mademann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricky Reiser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfried Mademann in the 55th minute of play. Tim Eisenblätter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Werner in the 59th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pierre Huegelschaefer during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th minute, one of hoffenheim:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for hoffenheim. The goalkeeper, Tim Eisenblätter, was totally fooled by FC Wilde Meute's Meik Eberts, who 62 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 94 played minutes hoffenheim got a freekick which was hit by Armando Zielezinski. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. hoffenheim had won after a very even match.
