After 29 played minutes Lübecker Löwen got a freekick which was hit by Lew Schnurr. Luis Wyes took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Rapp. David Rapp dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 35 minutes into the game, Schkölen's Luis Wyes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Rapp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 42nd match minute, Lübecker Löwen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jannick Schünemann to maneuver through the defense. After 47 minutes of play, Schkölen's Luis Wyes made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Rapp was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Schkölen were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis Wyes was the one to do the kick off. Claus Rockstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Borgloh in the 53rd minute of play. Jannick Schünemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvo Domröse in the 61st minute of play forced Lübecker Löwen's goalkeeper David Rapp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Schkölen booed when Lübecker Löwen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Borgloh didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Lübecker Löwen defense, Abdelaziz Moos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Rapp. The Lübecker Löwen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Rapp should have stopped the shot. 81 minutes into the match, Lübecker Löwen's goalkeeper David Rapp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernst Brandes.
