Spectators: 6725 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cedric Winand started the match with the kick off. When Aufurth FC's Markus Hanke in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Winsen's goalie prevented a goal. Erik Genz's late challenge caught a Winsen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erik Genz helped the player get up and apologised. Lothar Scharpe stood somewhat misplaced when Cedric Winand came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 10 minute. Edbert Darmstadt might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dieter Fricker. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edbert Darmstadt ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edbert Darmstadt in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dieter Fricker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Cedric Winand took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Lothar Scharpe to make any attempt to save it. 21 minutes into the game, Marc Kaltenbrunner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Winsen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aufurth FC the free kick. Dieter Fricker came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Aufurth FC's Markus Hanke. But to his dismay, Markus Hanke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 33 minutes into the match, Aufurth FC's goalkeeper Lothar Scharpe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by René Streich. Dieter Fricker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Markus Hanke in the 36th minute of play. Lothar Scharpe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cedric Winand went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Markus Hanke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cedric Winand in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lothar Scharpe saved Aufurth FC from getting behind. Cedric Winand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 57 minutes of play, Winsen's Cedric Winand made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lothar Scharpe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edbert Darmstadt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Aufurth FC's Markus Hanke ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dieter Fricker. Dieter Fricker yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-2. If Markus Hanke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dieter Fricker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Markus Hanke in the 76th minute of the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Edbert Darmstadt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aufurth FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edbert Darmstadt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Edbert Darmstadt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aufurth FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edbert Darmstadt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dieter Fricker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute, Thorsten Blind hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Markus Hanke in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dieter Fricker saved Winsen from getting behind. 94 minutes into the match, Winsen's goal looked a bit too open when Markus Hanke came free, but Dieter Fricker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Markus Hanke struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Dieter Fricker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aufurth FC. Aufurth FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
