Reiko Klein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulrich Händel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vinzenz Thimm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heiner Boddenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Barl's goalkeeper Vinzenz Thimm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaspar Gaisenkersting. Ulrich Händel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Reiko Klein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Manfred Fuchtel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaus Leffek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reiko Klein read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Vinzenz Thimm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurence Nelius in the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Christoph Egger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barl's supporters rose to their feet, but Christoph Egger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reiko Klein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lichtenborn's Reiko Klein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulrich Händel in the 46th minute of play. After 46 played minutes Lichtenborn got a freekick which was hit by Palle Sebastian. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulrich Händel was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Laurence Nelius put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Vinzenz Thimm. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Heiner Boddenberg in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vinzenz Thimm prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hannes Fuss's late challenge caught a Barl's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hannes Fuss helped the player get up and apologised. Reiko Klein made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Christoph Egger sent off a good shot on target. Vinzenz Thimm didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laurence Nelius went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Reiko Klein made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christoph Egger in the 75th minute. Ken Stenger's late challenge caught a Lichtenborn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ken Stenger helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th match minute, Barl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ken Stenger to maneuver through the defense. Kilian Rauhaus charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kilian Rauhaus the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 83rd match minute, Barl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kilian Rauhaus to maneuver through the defense. If Heiner Boddenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
