Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ansgar Buchmann kicked off to start the match. Illyria's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Günter Hambloch 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Sjard Kucz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Klemens Schwabenthan in the 8th minute. Carl Bauriegel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hartmut Dreßel in the 10th minute of the match. Günter Hambloch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petrus Karstens hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Folke Johannsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Günter Hambloch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ansgar Buchmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carl Bauriegel having to make a save. Hartmut Dreßel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Carl Bauriegel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Kornelius Gerstner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kölner Sportverein's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Illyria the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Kölner Sportverein was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kornelius Gerstner to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ansgar Buchmann in the 29th minute of play forced Kölner Sportverein's goalkeeper Carl Bauriegel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hartmut Dreßel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Günter Hambloch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sjard Kucz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Günter Hambloch in the 36th minute of play. When Klemens Schwabenthan came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Kölner Sportverein fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Klemens Schwabenthan couldn't finish the play. Günter Hambloch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sjard Kucz having to interfere. Klemens Schwabenthan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Sjard Kucz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Günter Hambloch in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sjard Kucz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Günter Hambloch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sjard Kucz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klemens Schwabenthan in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Klemens Schwabenthan in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sjard Kucz saved Illyria from getting behind. If Folke Johannsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klemens Schwabenthan scored 2-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sjard Kucz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carl Bauriegel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ansgar Buchmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Klemens Schwabenthan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sjard Kucz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Günter Hambloch in the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Illyria booed when Kölner Sportverein was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kornelius Gerstner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hartmut Dreßel was extremely unlucky when he, in the 79th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sjard Kucz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Günter Hambloch, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Günter Hambloch in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sjard Kucz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Illyria getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Petrus Karstens hit a great ball. When Kornelius Gerstner was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. After 87 played minutes Kölner Sportverein got a freekick which was hit by Kornelius Gerstner. Klemens Schwabenthan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sjard Kucz having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Illyria's zone, Folke Johannsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sjard Kucz came out of the goal and Folke Johannsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Kölner Sportverein had played much better football throughout.
