To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the match, KS Otmęt-Krapkowice's goalkeeper Rappo Kowalke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mischa Simpson. If Mischa Simpson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Aziz Knopf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, 1.FC Union Berlin's goal looked a bit too open when Aziz Knopf came free, but Benjamin Fischer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jürgen Wienecke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rappo Kowalke having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jürgen Wienecke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, KS Otmęt-Krapkowice's Aziz Knopf sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benjamin Fischer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Mischa Simpson made a precise shot to the right of Rappo Kowalke. KS Otmęt-Krapkowice's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0.
