Without hesitation aimed to the right of Niko Echterhoff, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Görschnitz FC's zone, Thomas Pätzold stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niko Echterhoff came out of the goal and Thomas Pätzold tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niko Röhner to make the kick off. Karlsruher SC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
