Geert Tippelt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dittmar Schramm went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Rhode's zone, Oswald Austin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nico Brockmann came out of the goal and Oswald Austin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dittmar Schramm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rhode fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 12 minutes, GALATASARAY 67's Günther Künast got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nico Brockmann. Jannis Berg hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, GALATASARAY 67's Jannis Berg got a free kick in the 17th minute. If Gerhard Pliska had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Gerhard Pliska got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 22 minutes, Dittmar Schramm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rhode's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dittmar Schramm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. GALATASARAY 67's Geert Tippelt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dittmar Schramm in the 23rd minute of play. Nico Brockmann made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Götz Pengel sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Gerhard Pliska's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geert Tippelt was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Nikolaus Weiss's late challenge caught a GALATASARAY 67's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nikolaus Weiss helped the player get up and apologised. Nikolaus Weiss hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After 30 played minutes GALATASARAY 67 got a freekick which was hit by Jannis Berg. The supporters of Rhode booed when GALATASARAY 67 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikolaus Viehl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geert Tippelt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dittmar Schramm, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 38 minutes into the match, GALATASARAY 67's goal looked a bit too open when Dittmar Schramm came free, but Geert Tippelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 45 played minutes Rhode got a freekick which was hit by Marco Welp. Gerhard Pliska received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Geert Tippelt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dittmar Schramm made a kick off. Gerhard Pliska fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geert Tippelt having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, GALATASARAY 67 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn von Heereman to maneuver through the defense. Gerhard Pliska's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Geert Tippelt skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 67th minute, Gerhard Pliska got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gerhard Pliska had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geert Tippelt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerhard Pliska in the 72nd minute. In the 74th play minute Gerhard Pliska came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Geert Tippelt. 1-2. 79 minutes into the match, Rhode's Dittmar Schramm sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geert Tippelt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jannis Berg during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jannis Berg hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Gerhard Pliska fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geert Tippelt having to interfere. Gerhard Pliska sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Rhode could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GALATASARAY 67 throughout the match.
