The referee felt a red card was in order, 35 minutes into the game, when Fynn Bethke put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in VS- Schweninngen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! In the 40th minute Torsten Westermayer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Engelbert Schrörs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leo Schnurrer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Union Berlin booed when VS- Schweninngen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thorsten Grath didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Union Berlin's Ariel Renger slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Engelbert Schrörs. That made the score 1-1 after 58 minutes of play. Alvar Bohmann did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Engelbert Schrörs 74 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, Gideon Fehling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Ulrich Pentrup shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Engelbert Schrörs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
