In the 13th match minute, VS- Schweninngen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Werner Schmidberger to maneuver through the defense. Ersan Gaßner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ole Fassbinder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, 1.FC Vorwärts's Ole Fassbinder got control of the ball when Ersan Gaßner tried to sneak it across the goal line. With 26 minutes on the clock, Hermann Schrappe commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Arvid Brandi placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After 30 minutes of play, 1.FC Vorwärts's Andreas Homolka made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Engelbert Schrörs was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leo Schnurrer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ole Fassbinder having to interfere. After a rather tough play, VS- Schweninngen's Donatus Volk got a free kick in the 37th minute. The audience was convinced that Andreas Homolka's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Engelbert Schrörs was relentless in the 49th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gideon Fehling made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Otto Harzer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Engelbert Schrörs. That made the score 0-2 in the 53 minute of play. Heinz-Gerd Bruder hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a long run with the ball, Donatus Volk did a trick in the 59th minute in front of 1.FC Vorwärts's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 1-2. An impressive performance by VS- Schweninngen's Donatus Volk! Ersan Gaßner struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Ole Fassbinder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VS- Schweninngen. 66 minutes into the match, VS- Schweninngen's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Homolka came free, but Engelbert Schrörs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Donatus Volk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ersan Gaßner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ole Fassbinder having to interfere. VS- Schweninngen's Gideon Fehling got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wayne Bauer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gideon Fehling came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the VS- Schweninngen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gideon Fehling couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in 1.FC Vorwärts's zone, Ersan Gaßner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ole Fassbinder came out of the goal and Ersan Gaßner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, VS- Schweninngen's Engelbert Schrörs got control of the ball when Erik Dürr tried to sneak it across the goal line. Engelbert Schrörs acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 97th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Heinz-Gerd Bruder. The VS- Schweninngen supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching 1.FC Vorwärts's performance. The match ended with a win for 1.FC Vorwärts.
