Erik Wöhrl made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Erik Wöhrl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvar Bohmann in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Windfeld FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Hermann Zwingel came free, but Erik Wöhrl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 14th play minutes Hermann Zwingel shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Erik Wöhrl and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 19th minute Hermann Zwingel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Wöhrl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Windfeld FSV getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Dieter Josten hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Windfeld FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Hermann Zwingel came free, but Erik Wöhrl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hermann Zwingel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvar Bohmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Wöhrl having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermann Zwingel in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erik Wöhrl prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theo Kreissler during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Theo Kreissler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erik Wöhrl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermann Zwingel's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute, Claus Horst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albert Balters short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Reik Peeger to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Erik Wöhrl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermann Zwingel in the 44th minute of play. Alvar Bohmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Wöhrl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The Windfeld FSV players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Union Berlin were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermann Zwingel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erik Wöhrl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermann Zwingel's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Hermann Zwingel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Windfeld FSV's zone, Alvar Bohmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Wöhrl came out of the goal and Alvar Bohmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 70 minutes into the game, Hermann Zwingel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Erik Wöhrl. Hermann Zwingel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. 78 minutes into the match, Windfeld FSV's goalkeeper Erik Wöhrl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvar Bohmann. If Hermann Zwingel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Balter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reik Peeger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. With his leg Erik Wöhrl managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Union Berlin's Alvar Bohmann fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Erik Wöhrl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermann Zwingel, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Hermann Zwingel might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Wöhrl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hermann Zwingel ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Alvar Bohmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Union Berlin's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvar Bohmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Wöhrl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvar Bohmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Erik Wöhrl made a huge save. Alvar Bohmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 101st minute. Erik Wöhrl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Union Berlin's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
