Köchingen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 10 minutes, Richard Kalvelage managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Köchingen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Kalvelage was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bartholomäus Grüning made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kurt Reim in the 16th minute. After 17 minutes, Simon Illmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Köchingen and the Dörenhagen FSV players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Köchingen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Illmann to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wolfgang Reich in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paul Amelung prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Wolfgang Reich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carl Eggenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Richard Kalvelage's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bartholomäus Grüning was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Paul Amelung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Lingnau in the 46th minute of play.

After a rather tough play, Köchingen's Kurt Reim got a free kick in the 51st minute. The Dörenhagen FSV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bartholomäus Grüning should have stopped the shot. Wolfgang Reich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Paul Amelung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paul Amelung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wolfgang Reich, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Bartholomäus Grüning stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Kalvelage's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wolfgang Reich in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul Amelung saved Köchingen from getting behind. Köchingen's Paul Amelung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wolfgang Reich in the 92nd minute of play. The supporters of Dörenhagen FSV booed when Köchingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Grüner didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Köchingen had won after a very even match.
