An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Lingnau in the 12th minute of play forced Colonia Agrippina's goalkeeper Hans Seel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Colonia Agrippina's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Lingnau came free, but Hans Seel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Ahmet Lingnau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Henning Ritzmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Bartholomäus Grüning tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rudi Weiner's late challenge caught a Dörenhagen FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rudi Weiner helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Colonia Agrippina got a freekick which was hit by Rudi Weiner. When Werner Simbeck fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. A collision led to Colonia Agrippina getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Oliver Sailer hit a great ball. In the 40th minute, Ahmet Lingnau made a precise shot to the right of Hans Seel. Colonia Agrippina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 46 minutes into the game, Wolfgang Reich cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Hans Seel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The wind increased when Wolfgang Reich made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henning Ritzmann in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bartholomäus Grüning saved Dörenhagen FSV from getting behind. Hans Seel didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 60th minute, which inside left pole to 0-4. If Henning Ritzmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Colonia Agrippina's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Wolfgang Reich scored to the left of an out of position Hans Seel, making the score, 0-5. With splendid footwork Wolfgang Reich arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-6 by the left pole in the game's 85th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Dörenhagen FSV's Ahmet Lingnau sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hans Seel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dörenhagen FSV walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
