Despite this Mathias Ernesti quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mathias Ernesti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eidur Seppmann in the 29th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eidur Seppmann got free with Mathias Ernesti in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roland Yilmaz hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Eidur Seppmann kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Roland Cakmakli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christof Zeh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert Wiegel in the 43rd minute of play forced Roter Stern Leipzig's goalkeeper Christof Zeh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Volkmar Greilich in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mathias Ernesti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, ASC Dorfclub's Friedrich Repplinger got a free kick in the 65th minute. Volkmar Greilich recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th play minute Evert Wiegel came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Christof Zeh. 0-2. In the 75th minute Volkmar Greilich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Ernesti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Roland Cakmakli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Volkmar Greilich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathias Ernesti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Volkmar Greilich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Volkmar Greilich in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. If Volkmar Greilich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Friedrich Repplinger charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Friedrich Repplinger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Roter Stern Leipzig booed when ASC Dorfclub was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Friedrich Repplinger didn't get a good kick on the ball.
