The audience was convinced that Ray Gerdung's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Béla Onaran was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Lennard Hutmacher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Béla Onaran made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rolf Freemann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Ray Gerdung who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ERZURUMSPOR's Béla Onaran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Lennard Hutmacher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolf Freemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Kappestein having to interfere. But to his dismay, Ray Gerdung quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Rurik Vogeler hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Karlheinz Gengelbach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andreas Kappestein read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Andreas Kappestein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolf Freemann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Karlheinz Gengelbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karlheinz Gengelbach got free with Andreas Kappestein in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Meral Brinkmann charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Meral Brinkmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Grünschwaige walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
