After 8 minutes of play, Oberbenningrath FC's Lars Rösler made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Beat Stickel was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stefan Schnellrieder in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Beat Stickel saved Bonner SC from getting behind. If Lars Rösler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lars Rösler struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Beat Stickel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oberbenningrath FC. Josef Bruckmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Jorge Manes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Bonner SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Oberbenningrath FC:s goal. In the 32nd match minute, Oberbenningrath FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willi Mühlichen to maneuver through the defense. Beat Stickel came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Oberbenningrath FC's Stefan Schnellrieder. But to his dismay, Stefan Schnellrieder quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Bonner SC's zone, Stefan Schnellrieder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beat Stickel came out of the goal and Stefan Schnellrieder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Beat Stickel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörgen Ellbracht, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Bonner SC's Beat Stickel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Bonner SC from getting a goal against them. After 60 played minutes Bonner SC got a freekick which was hit by Vicco Asad. Stefan Schnellrieder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Beat Stickel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Manes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Bruckmann in the 65th minute of play. Lars Rösler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beat Stickel having to interfere. Jorge Manes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Josef Bruckmann went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. 73 minutes into the game, Lawrence Stand was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bonner SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oberbenningrath FC the free kick. Lars Rösler struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Beat Stickel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oberbenningrath FC. With his leg Beat Stickel managed to avoid a goal in the 77thth minute, when Oberbenningrath FC's Stefan Schnellrieder fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Beat Stickel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Schnellrieder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oberbenningrath FC's Stefan Schnellrieder got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Lars Rösler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 85th minute Stefan Schnellrieder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beat Stickel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Beat Stickel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lars Rösler in the 91st minute. Oberbenningrath FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
