After a defensive mix-up in 1.SSV Heimelf's zone, Ignaz Zabe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommaso Hörnes came out of the goal and Ignaz Zabe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Helmut Schindler in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dieter Benedix saved Wallbach from getting behind. Ignaz Zabe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the game, Volker Koziolek recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tommaso Hörnes. Volker Koziolek showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Volker Koziolek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sandro Zötzsche fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 1.SSV Heimelf's protests and gave Sandro Zötzsche a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute, Sandro Zötzsche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Volker Koziolek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommaso Hörnes having to interfere. If Ignaz Zabe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dieter Benedix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Helmut Schindler, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Dieter Benedix came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by 1.SSV Heimelf's Engelbert Beckmeyer. But to his dismay, Engelbert Beckmeyer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Helmut Schindler was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes, Ignaz Zabe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wallbach and the 1.SSV Heimelf players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 51 played minutes Wallbach got a freekick which was hit by Ignaz Zabe. Lars Szangolies made in the 54th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Jan Berndt immediately put the ball in play. Dieter Benedix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helmut Schindler in the 61st minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Wallbach's goalkeeper Dieter Benedix had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Theodor Blask. Norbert Döpper scored 2-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommaso Hörnes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dieter Benedix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helmut Schindler in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Helmut Schindler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 85th minute, Norbert Döpper made a precise shot to the right of Tommaso Hörnes. 1.SSV Heimelf's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Ignaz Zabe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
