Lester Freeh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arik Beloch, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Husen-Kurl's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Lausen came free, but Lester Freeh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arik Beloch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Arik Beloch sped through Husen-Kurl's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lester Freeh. Lester Freeh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arik Beloch in the 34th minute of play. Husen-Kurl's Nicolai Fritz got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Willibald Bannert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Dan Degdau made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Eintracht Emden's Sebastian Lausen got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Hartmut Heinzelmann shot from long distance in the 44th minute, but Dan Degdau was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Husen-Kurl's Nicolai Fritz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dan Degdau. That made the score 2-1 after 45 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Merten Boxberger to strike the kick off in the second half. Dan Degdau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolai Fritz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolai Fritz in the 64th minute of play forced Eintracht Emden's goalkeeper Dan Degdau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Hartmut Heinzelmann sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dan Degdau skillfully saved the ball. Arik Belochs short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Lester Freeh to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Sebastian Lausen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastian Lausen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Lester Freeh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Philipp Buß hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Husen-Kurl's goalkeeper Lester Freeh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arik Beloch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lester Freeh having to interfere. Lester Freeh made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Arik Beloch sent off a good shot on target. Eintracht Emden's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
