FC Hannover's Romano Burgmeier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reineke Petig in the 15th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eike Dammer in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horst Dickhut prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 20th match minute, FC Bayern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ottmar Scharfscheer to maneuver through the defense. After 22 played minutes FC Bayern got a freekick which was hit by Fabien Weth. FC Hannover's Jindrich Münstermann got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horst Dickhut made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eike Dammer in the 28th minute. Romano Burgmeier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ottmar Scharfscheer, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eike Dammer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. FC Bayern's Horst Dickhut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Sailer in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of FC Hannover booed when FC Bayern was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saul Krumpen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jindrich Münstermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastian Sailer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horst Dickhut read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Romano Burgmeier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerrit Cürten went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Bayern eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
