Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Josef Zielonka started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Josef Zielonka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Hilbert Rabiega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charlie Mücke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lokomotive Leipzig's Till Poll proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Lokomotive Leipzig from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Leo Koller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laim United's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Koller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Till Poll breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hilbert Rabiega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlie Mücke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Lokomotive Leipzig getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Werner Fock hit a great ball. With a little luck, Lokomotive Leipzig's Till Poll got control of the ball when Leo Koller tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hilbert Rabiega stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josef Zielonka's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Charlie Mücke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lokomotive Leipzig's Josef Zielonka got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laim United's Hilbert Rabiega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Mücke in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Laim United's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Zielonka came free, but Hilbert Rabiega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Josef Zielonka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Hilbert Rabiega was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christoph Frischmuth to strike the kick off in the second half. Christoph Frischmuth kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Charlie Mücke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hilbert Rabiega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josef Zielonka in the 66th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Laim United defense, Josef Zielonka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hilbert Rabiega. The Laim United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hilbert Rabiega should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Josef Zielonka in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hilbert Rabiega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd minute, Stephan Drube hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 minutes Laim United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gerald Stockbauer who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Lokomotive Leipzig's corner Jakob Ziffzer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hilbert Rabiega quite easily take care of the ball. Charlie Mücke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laim United's Leo Koller got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute Leo Koller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Till Poll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christoph Frischmuth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Till Poll having to make a save. Leo Koller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Till Poll tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Till Poll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christoph Frischmuth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Christoph Frischmuth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Till Poll was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
