Munster FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Florian Spindler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Till Poll breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Charlie Mücke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Benedikt Buch made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josef Zielonka in the 20th minute of play forced Munster FC's goalkeeper Benedikt Buch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 21 minutes, Charlie Mücke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lokomotive Leipzig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charlie Mücke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Béla Dohnanyi kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Benedikt Buch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Zielonka in the 24th minute of play. A collision led to Munster FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Clemens Dupke hit a great ball. Benedikt Buch made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerald Stockbauer in the 29th minute. In the 33rd minute, Charlie Mücke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Josef Zielonka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Munster FC defense, Charlie Mücke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benedikt Buch. The Munster FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benedikt Buch should have stopped the shot. In the 46th minute, Josef Zielonka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 48 minutes into the match, Munster FC's goalkeeper Benedikt Buch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charlie Mücke. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Josef Zielonka was the one to do the kick off. Munster FC's Benedikt Buch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Zielonka in the 52nd minute of play. If Florian Spindler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Lokomotive Leipzig's Werner Fock got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 62ndth minute of the game Josef Zielonka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Munster FC's Benedikt Buch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rolf Schneider's late challenge caught a Lokomotive Leipzig's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rolf Schneider helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Munster FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! 96 minutes into the match, Josef Zielonka notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Munster FC's Benedikt Buch. Benedikt Buch was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
