Friedbert Hemling struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Jaro Niederhellmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Hannover. After 22 minutes of play, FC Hannover's Eike Dammer made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jaro Niederhellmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wolfhard Scheerer kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Dick Belzner charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
