Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 11th minute, Charlie Mücke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven Fechter was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Till Poll acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 14th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Keith Szurmant. After a rather tough play, Lokomotive Leipzig's Lucien Mauer got a free kick in the 15th minute. After 16 minutes of play, Brehna's Lutger von der Beck made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Till Poll was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Werner Fock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lutger von der Beck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Brehna's Arne Meyer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Till Poll. That made the score 2-1 after 27 minutes of play. Charlie Mücke struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Sven Fechter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lokomotive Leipzig. 39 minutes into the match, Josef Zielonka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven Fechter. Brehna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Josef Zielonka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Lokomotive Leipzig's zone, Arne Meyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Till Poll came out of the goal and Arne Meyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Josef Zielonka struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Sven Fechter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lokomotive Leipzig. When Lokomotive Leipzig's Charlie Mücke in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brehna's goalie prevented a goal. After 46 minutes, Charlie Mücke made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Brehna's Sven Fechter tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Lokomotive Leipzig were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Josef Zielonka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Sven Fechter made a huge save. After 57 played minutes Brehna got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Werner. In the 58th minute of the match, Charlie Mücke got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sven Fechter was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Charlie Mücke got free with Sven Fechter in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arne Meyer scored 3-3 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Till Poll, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Lokomotive Leipzig getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Werner Fock hit a great ball. Arne Meyer struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Till Poll didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brehna. 74 minutes into the game, Werner Fock was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lokomotive Leipzig's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brehna the free kick. In the 74th match minute, Lokomotive Leipzig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Werner Fock to maneuver through the defense. Lokomotive Leipzig's Till Poll played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lutger von der Beck in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Lokomotive Leipzig getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Jakob Ziffzer hit a great ball. Lutger von der Beck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Till Poll having to interfere. Sven Fechter made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Charlie Mücke sent off a good shot on target. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
