The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the game, one of Laim United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Lemmy Brandner sped through Laim United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hilbert Rabiega. Lemmy Brandner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilbert Rabiega having to interfere. Magnus Joneschat hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Ebbo Heite who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Hilbert Rabiega when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Leo Koller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, one of Otze:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 48 minutes into the match, Laim United's goalkeeper Hilbert Rabiega had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joschi Rögele. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Lemmy Brandner struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Hilbert Rabiega didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Otze. The supporters of Otze booed when Laim United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magnus Joneschat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otze's Lemmy Brandner got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Lemmy Brandner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Otze's supporters rose to their feet, but Lemmy Brandner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hilbert Rabiega breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Laim United's zone, Lemmy Brandner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hilbert Rabiega came out of the goal and Lemmy Brandner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 76 minutes, Ebbo Heite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Otze's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ebbo Heite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Larry Schira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Koller in the 80th minute. When Hansjörg Blockmann fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Otze's protests and gave Hansjörg Blockmann a yellow card for diving instead. After 82 played minutes Otze got a freekick which was hit by Hansjörg Blockmann. Lemmy Brandner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Hilbert Rabiega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laim United's Hilbert Rabiega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lemmy Brandner in the 91st minute of play. Ebbo Heite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Hilbert Rabiega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Otze walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
