Yildiray Bettin hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, FC Lengerich 23's Manfred Hertz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luigi Buchele narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Igli Schiewerling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ruschkamp's supporters rose to their feet, but Igli Schiewerling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wolfram Zellier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igli Schiewerling in the 18th minute of play forced FC Lengerich 23's goalkeeper Wolfram Zellier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 played minutes, Ruschkamp's Curd Pleschke shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wolfram Zellier came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ruschkamp reached it. 31 minutes into the match, Kornel Labouvie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wolfram Zellier. FC Lengerich 23's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kornel Labouvie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After some careless play in the Ruschkamp defense, Manfred Hertz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luigi Buchele. The Ruschkamp fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luigi Buchele should have stopped the shot. In the 45th match minute, Ruschkamp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yildiray Bettin to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Ruschkamp were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manfred Hertz made a kick off. In the 58th minute Manfred Hertz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luigi Buchele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Quint Ziege was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ruschkamp's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Lengerich 23 the free kick. The supporters of FC Lengerich 23 booed when Ruschkamp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quint Ziege didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kornel Labouvie succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 67th playminute. If Kornel Labouvie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guntram Janker charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guntram Janker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 75 played minutes FC Lengerich 23 got a freekick which was hit by Guntram Janker. After a defensive mix-up in FC Lengerich 23's zone, Kornel Labouvie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wolfram Zellier came out of the goal and Kornel Labouvie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ruschkamp's Luigi Buchele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Hertz in the 82nd minute of play. When FC Lengerich 23's Manfred Hertz in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ruschkamp's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ruschkamp's zone, Manfred Hertz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luigi Buchele came out of the goal and Manfred Hertz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chants of Ruschkamp echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as FC Lengerich 23 had held the ball for most of the match.
