Spectators: 7477 (Terracing: 5609, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carl Buch started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lambert Rogatty got free with Mika Hoersch in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6th match minute, SPVGG Oelde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Femke Prüll to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the SPVGG Oelde defense, Fynn Gennburg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mika Hoersch. The SPVGG Oelde fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mika Hoersch should have stopped the shot. A collision led to SPVGG Oelde getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Graham Gessinger hit a great ball. Fynn Gennburg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carl Buch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute Fynn Gennburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mika Hoersch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jens Vehma's late challenge caught a SPVGG Oelde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jens Vehma helped the player get up and apologised. Jens Vehma hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Lambert Rogatty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Mika Hoersch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th match minute, SPVGG Oelde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ersan Groth to maneuver through the defense. Mika Hoersch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fynn Gennburg in the 41st minute of play. Augustin Vehma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Buch in the 43rd minute of play. If Carl Buch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Seibert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Augustin Vehma having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carl Buch in the 48th minute of play forced VfB Oldenburg's goalkeeper Augustin Vehma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Fynn Gennburg made the kick off in the second half. Fynn Gennburg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mika Hoersch having to interfere. In the 53rdth minute of the game Lambert Rogatty who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SPVGG Oelde's Mika Hoersch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adalbert Groll recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of SPVGG Oelde booed when VfB Oldenburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens Vehma didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to VfB Oldenburg getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Friedbert Böttcher hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, Vico Görsch sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and VfB Oldenburg's Augustin Vehma didn't even have to move. 78 minutes into the game, Fynn Gennburg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VfB Oldenburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SPVGG Oelde the free kick. 81 minutes into the game, SPVGG Oelde's Roger Seibert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Augustin Vehma made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Roger Seiberts short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Augustin Vehma to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Carl Buch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustin Vehma having to interfere. Graham Gessinger might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Augustin Vehma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Graham Gessinger ran back to his position shaking his head. VfB Oldenburg's Augustin Vehma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save VfB Oldenburg from getting a goal against them. Mika Hoersch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fynn Gennburg in the 95th minute of play. The VfB Oldenburg support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
