The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Graf Bernhard zur Lippe's Rafael Maurer got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Rafael Maurer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Paul Hammermüller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Maurer struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Paul Hammermüller didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Graf Bernhard zur Lippe. Marko Ebenfeld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manfred Hospelt in the 11th minute of the match. Paul Hammermüller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmund Weiss, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. With 17 minutes on the clock, Willi Ross commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of Graf Bernhard zur Lippe booed when Hagelskamp FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willi Ross didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paul Hammermüller made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Bernward Goldmann sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Berthold Quick managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hagelskamp FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Berthold Quick was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marko Ebenfeld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rafael Maurer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paul Hammermüller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmund Weiss in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Rafael Maurer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paul Hammermüller, 1-0. Paul Hammermüller made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik Franke in the 34th minute. Manfred Hospelt kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Ivar Gundelach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivar Gundelach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A sloppy throw-in by Wolfram Jakobi in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Hagelskamp FSV's Manfred Hospelt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Goran Stahl in the 56th minute of play forced Graf Bernhard zur Lippe's goalkeeper Marko Ebenfeld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute Edmund Weiss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Hammermüller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Edmund Weiss came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Graf Bernhard zur Lippe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmund Weiss couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, Erik Franke left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Graf Bernhard zur Lippe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Goran Stahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes in the game Ivar Gundelach got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Marko Ebenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Hospelt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Bernward Goldmann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paul Hammermüller. Hagelskamp FSV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernward Goldmann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 92nd minute Erik Franke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Hammermüller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Graf Bernhard zur Lippe were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Hagelskamp FSV for a fine match.
