The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ersan Weidlandt struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Mattias Froehlich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Wehen Wiesbaden. Ursus Pfeffer was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Louis Michel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Louis Michel really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Louis Michel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mattias Froehlich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jo Jahn, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Ersan Weidlandt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jo Jahn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ersan Weidlandt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Kickers Lintfort's zone, Jo Jahn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mattias Froehlich came out of the goal and Jo Jahn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Allan Dahlinger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ursus Pfeffer having to interfere. SV Wehen Wiesbaden's Ursus Pfeffer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Louis Michel in the 46th minute of play. After having played for 49 minutes, Ersan Weidlandt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SV Wehen Wiesbaden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ersan Weidlandt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Louis Michel made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Kickers Lintfort's goalkeeper Mattias Froehlich had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ersan Weidlandt. Louis Michel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ursus Pfeffer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SV Wehen Wiesbaden's Ersan Weidlandt got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, SV Wehen Wiesbaden's Jo Jahn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mattias Froehlich narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kickers Lintfort's Mattias Froehlich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Kickers Lintfort from getting a goal against them. Mattias Froehlich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jo Jahn in the 69th minute of the match. When Abbo Söldner came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the SV Wehen Wiesbaden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abbo Söldner couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jo Jahn in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mattias Froehlich prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ersan Weidlandt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mattias Froehlich having to make a save. Sebastian Danczyk kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Ersan Weidlandt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 88 minutes, Allan Dahlinger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kickers Lintfort's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Dahlinger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ersan Weidlandt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Froehlich having to interfere. In the 97th minute Jo Jahn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Froehlich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kickers Lintfort fans cheered their team off the field, for while SV Wehen Wiesbaden had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
