Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wim Winkler started the match with the kick off. Abdelaziz Sanio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gordon Schipploch, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After 8 minutes, Jens Irion mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hesselte and the Esens players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute, Egon Hochhaus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Hesselte's goalkeeper Abdelaziz Sanio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rachid Kilz. Rachid Kilz scored 2-0 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abdelaziz Sanio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pepe Friedrich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Reichwein having to interfere. Hesselte's Wim Winkler got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hesselte's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Gordon Schipploch scored to the left of an out of position Abdelaziz Sanio, making the score, 3-0. If Wim Winkler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wim Winkler charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wim Winkler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 38 played minutes Hesselte got a freekick which was hit by Wim Winkler. Rachid Kilz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Abdelaziz Sanio firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 47th minute, Gordon Schipploch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gordon Schipploch was the one to do the kick off. Hesselte's Abdelaziz Sanio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rachid Kilz in the 51st minute of play. Wim Winkler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Adam Reichwein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Esens's zone, Wim Winkler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adam Reichwein came out of the goal and Wim Winkler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronald Jener during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Esens booed when Hesselte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronald Jener didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Wim Winkler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Gordon Schipploch ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abdelaziz Sanio was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. 70 minutes into the game, Kornelius Ungerechts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hesselte's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esens the free kick. The supporters of Esens booed when Hesselte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kornelius Ungerechts didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Frans Bornscheuer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abdelaziz Sanio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kornelius Ungerechts hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gordon Schipploch in the 74th minute of play forced Hesselte's goalkeeper Abdelaziz Sanio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Esens's Rachid Kilz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abdelaziz Sanio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wim Winkler in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adam Reichwein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Pepe Friedrich came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Hesselte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pepe Friedrich couldn't finish the play. Kornelius Ungerechts got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Hesselte's Kornelius Ungerechts got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute Gordon Schipploch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdelaziz Sanio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esens's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
