If Erik Arslan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Vachendorf booed when SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Viapiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erich Heinold was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Toralf Sandkühler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egon Mügge having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
