Erich Heinold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

With his leg Erich Heinold managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Dynamo Grimma's Ted Falter fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Ramiro Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, Ramiro Medeiros notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of SV Waldhof Mannheim 07's Erich Heinold. Erich Heinold was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With an all-out effort, Dynamo Grimma's Erich Heinold threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ramiro Medeiros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
