The supporters of Haltern 08 booed when Lilianvenn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Marquardt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Lilianvenn's goal looked a bit too open when Hermann Nölte came free, but Martin Locke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Lilianvenn's Niclas Schleier got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Anthony Barges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mika Karhoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Alfons Mannschatz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Locke. Lilianvenn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfons Mannschatz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lilianvenn's goalkeeper Martin Locke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 44 minutes, Hermann Nölte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haltern 08's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermann Nölte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mika Karhoff was the one to do the kick off. Martin Locke was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Alfons Mannschatz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alfons Mannschatz really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Alfons Mannschatz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermann Nölte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Locke having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Lilianvenn's goal looked a bit too open when Alfons Mannschatz came free, but Martin Locke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored Lilianvenn's protests and gave Jukka Kreller a yellow card for diving instead. Alfons Mannschatz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Martin Locke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 92 minutes, Hermann Nölte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haltern 08's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermann Nölte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfons Mannschatz in the 93rd minute of play forced Lilianvenn's goalkeeper Martin Locke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfons Mannschatz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haltern 08's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
