One of Galatasaray SK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Borussia Polonia:s goal. 25 minutes into the match, Borussia Polonia's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Möller came free, but Tom Pfau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Galatasaray SK booed when Borussia Polonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rasmus Achenbach didn't get a good kick on the ball. Borussia Polonia's Tom Pfau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Borussia Polonia from getting a goal against them. Lars Möller struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Tom Pfau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray SK. A collision led to Borussia Polonia getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Rasmus Achenbach hit a great ball. Marcel Throm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Trutz Jordan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcel Throm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eckhard Linke hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florin Peschke got free with Tom Pfau in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lars Möller to make the kick off. After having played for 55 minutes, Florin Peschke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galatasaray SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florin Peschke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Borussia Polonia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lars Möller was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The Galatasaray SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Borussia Polonia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Galatasaray SK.
